Recruitment and Admission

The Graduate Studies Office has many resources to help faculty with the recruitment and admission processes for students:

  • We complement Prospective Student visits
  • We offer  Campus Tours  every first and third Friday of the month starting at 10 a.m.
  • We offer  Prospective Student Travel Grants  of up to $600 per student to assist faculty with the cost of bringing prospective students for a campus visit
  • We can advise faculty on the status of an application and supply documents from the application
  • We provide recruitment packets for faculty attending conferences
  • We coordinate fellowship and assistantship award applications

Advising Research Students

Texas A&M University provides faculty resources to complement the research student and faculty mentor relationship.  Check out these resources:

Compact between Graduate Students and Their Supervising Faculty developed by the TAMU Faculty-Student Agreement Task Force

TAMU Center for Teaching Excellence offers Faculty Mentoring Resources which includes the Faculty Mentoring Academy, Workshops, Mentoring Resources (within TAMU and beyond), and Consultations. 

Graduate Faculty are welcome to attend advising sessions that we host with graduate students. Typical advising sessions are incoming advising, proposal advising, preliminary exam advising and graduation advising. These advising sessions focus on university level policies and resources.

Research and Graduate Studies Awards
