Christopher Marshall, Ph.D.
Professor

Dr. Christopher Marshall is the PI of the lab. His work focuses on integrating morphology, physiology, and behavioral performance of feeding in marine vertebrates to provide information regarding an organism's foraging ecology, and their conservation. This work includes investigations of natural history and comparative neurobiology of sensory systems of marine vertebrates.

Dr. Danielle Ingle
Postdoctoral Scientist

Dr. Ingle is a Postdoctoral Scientist with the EcoMorphLab and the Gulf Center for Sea Turtle Research. Danielle Ingle received her Ph.D. in Integrative Biology from Florida Atlantic University in August 2020 before coming to Texas A&M University at Galveston. As a functional morphologist, her major research interests include investigating connections between the structure and mechanical behavior of hard tissues that comprise the feeding apparatuses and axial skeletons of marine megafauna.

Dr. Carlos Peredo
Postdoctoral Scientist

Dr. Peredo is a NSF Postdoctoral Fellow and University of Michigan Society of Fellows Postdoctoral Scholar. His research focuses on understanding the macroevolutionary patterns associated with mammals returning to a marine environment. His interests includes the evolutionary origins of key innovations, such as echolocation in toothed whales and filter feeding in baleen whales. These key innovations represent ecological shifts marked by morphological transformations akin to the transition from scales to feathers in dinosaurs and fins to limbs in tetrapods.
