Campus Living & Learning

Living Learning Communities

Campus Living & Learning works with TAMUG Faculty and Staff to implement Learning Communities (LCs) and Living Learning Communities (LLCs) to give students enriching academic experiences outside of the classroom. LCs and LLCs are designed to aid students in meeting their collegiate goals while enforcing the idea of community and personal connections among peers, Faculty, and Staff. LCs and LLCs have courses in which students enroll via HOWDY using the CLGV course code. CLGV courses do not carry tuition or course credit, but may carry a fee if the faculty host deems this to be necessary for field trips and guest speakers.

The LLC application for 2024-2025 academic year will open in Spring 2024. Please reach out to the individual contact of the LLC if you have any questions.

Currently Offered LCs & LLCs:

A&M-Pact

Aggies are leaders. Enrolled in leadership classes, students will learn how to apply their leadership skills to their field of study. Focused on tasks bigger than themselves, students in the A&M-Pact LLC will be good stewards of the world’s finite resources. They will work to create a more sustainable residence hall, campus, and world. Through service opportunities and sustainability projects, students will live out Selfless Service, a core value of Texas A&M University. Participants can then take this knowledge to become leaders in the campus community, student organizations, their respective industries, local communities, and nationally.

For questions, contact Cloe Bourdages at cebourages@tamug.edu.

F1RST Program LLC

The F1RST Program provides first-generation college students with specialized programming and mentorship to aid in academic and personal growth throughout their time on our campus. F1RST students build community through a specialized orientation program, a weekly LC course, a residence hall community, peer mentorship, and a variety of recreational opportunities.

The F1RST LLC resides in Oceans Hall on the first floor.

Learn more about the F1RST Program here. For questions, contact us at coaching@tamug.edu.

Inertia LLC

Inertia LLC (formerly Engineering LLC) provides engineering students with an enhanced learning experience outside of the classroom, seeking to support them in their future engineering career pathways. Students will have the opportunity to live within a residential community with other engineers and will have the opportunity to participate in targeted social programming to help them build connections with like-minded students taking similar course schedules. Staff involved with this community have the goal of supporting students' goals, whether they involve entering a Galveston major or transitioning to the College Station campus. Inertia LLC: moving engineers forward!

Inertia resides on the sixth floor of Texas A&M Maritime Academy (TAMMA) Hall.
