What in your life drew you to your current field of study?

I have always been fascinated by the ocean. The beauty of the waves and how this eventually enables us to get items delivered to our homes while linking the economies in the world through shipping are processes that drew me to the maritime field.

What do you hope your students gain from studying or working with you?

I have extensive experience both practically and scholarly in the maritime field and my students will benefit a lot from my expertise. Further, they will benefit from mentorship not just academically but also in how to navigate the often-difficult issues students face. I like to keep in touch with my students even after graduation. Some have gone ahead to start their own companies through my mentorship.

What are you passionate about in your personal life?

I am passionate about helping society function properly. It includes helping others using my talents and expertise. I always look forward to seeing a better society each day.
